How to pass the theory test
Online form
The green paper form is gone. The licence application with the medical declaration is filled in on the Ministry of Transport site; codes arrive by SMS.

Once the form is approved, an SMS lets you book. Book online or by phone at *5678. The fee is 57 ₪; the website charges 76 ₪ including the operator fee.

After the theory
The result arrives within 24 hours; you can appeal within 7 working days. The theory pass is valid for a limited time, during which you must pass the driving test.

How much does the theory test cost?
The state fee is 57 ₪. Booking online at theorytest.org.il charges 76 ₪ including the operator fee. The photo for a first licence is free; the eye test is paid separately.
Which languages can you take the test in?
Hebrew, Arabic, English, Russian, French, Spanish and Amharic. tsomet has the first six.
Can I prepare for free?
Yes. All 1802 questions, the exam and the lessons are open without sign-up. Questions come from the Ministry of Transport open database on data.gov.il.
How many questions and what is the pass mark?
30 questions in 40 minutes; at least 26 must be correct.
